ADB Commits USD3M Grant for Quake-Hit Afghanistan
In a statement, the bank outlined that the funding will be directed toward providing life-saving food aid—either through direct distribution of goods or cash transfers—to an estimated 60,000 individuals.
This emergency assistance will be sourced from the Asia Pacific Disaster Response Fund, a mechanism designed to expedite financial support for ADB’s member nations in the wake of natural disasters.
The ADB further mentioned that additional aid is under consideration, with plans to leverage funds from ongoing and upcoming projects in Afghanistan to further assist those affected by the catastrophe.
