Israeli Strikes Kill Over Sixty Palestinians in Gaza

(MENAFN) At least 60 Palestinians, including a young girl, lost their lives and numerous others were wounded in ongoing Israeli military operations throughout the Gaza Strip on Saturday, according to reports from local sources and healthcare professionals.

The attacks persisted despite a call from U.S. President Donald Trump urging an immediate cessation of the offensive.

On Friday, Trump publicly called on Israel to “stop bombing Gaza immediately” following Hamas’s announcement of its willingness to release Israeli detainees in line with his proposal. He stated that he believed the group was “ready for lasting peace.”

In one of the deadliest incidents, six Palestinians were killed and others remained buried under debris after Israeli aircraft bombed a family residence in the al-Tuffah neighborhood of Gaza City, according to medical personnel who spoke with a news agency.

The same neighborhood witnessed another deadly assault, where 17 individuals—including seven minors—were killed in a strike targeting a residential block.

Elsewhere in the city, a Palestinian was killed when a missile hit a house on al-Yarmouk Street.

Another individual was killed and several more were injured in a separate aerial attack that targeted a civilian gathering near al-Sharq Laboratory in the al-Labbabidi district.

Additional bombardments throughout Gaza City led to the deaths of at least 14 more Palestinians.

Meanwhile, the Israeli military carried out widespread destruction using remote-controlled, booby-trapped robotic devices in the southern areas of Sabra and Tel al-Hawa, as well as the western neighborhoods of Rimal, Nasr, and Beach Camp.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli armored units slightly withdrew from al-Jalaa Street and the Nasr neighborhood, though military forces maintained a stronghold, using low-flying surveillance drones that opened fire at any detected movement.
