Debris from Intercepted Aerial Targets Hits Kuwait Home, Killing Girl
In a statement, Health Ministry spokesperson Abdullah Al-Sanad said emergency personnel at Amiri Hospital were alerted about an injured 11-year-old girl living in Kuwait after debris descended onto a residential neighborhood in the governorate.
According to Al-Sanad, paramedics rushed to the scene and immediately began life-saving procedures inside the ambulance while transporting the girl to the hospital. Upon arrival, doctors continued resuscitation attempts for nearly 30 minutes, but she ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
Four additional relatives, including the girl’s mother, sustained injuries in the incident. They are currently undergoing medical assessments and remain under observation at the hospital as doctors monitor their conditions, the spokesperson added.
Separately, a spokesperson for Kuwait’s Defense Ministry stated on the social media platform X that the country’s armed forces had identified and intercepted multiple hostile aerial targets within national airspace earlier that morning. “The targets were dealt with and destroyed,” he said.
He further explained that remnants from the interception fell onto a residential property, resulting in injuries and damage to the home.
